With over ten years of teaching experience, including four at the prestigious Cours Florent drama school in Paris, my speciality is in bringing clown games and physical theatre into scene work and character building.
I trained at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where I got a fantastic training in voice, improvisation, and more Stanislavski based approaches to text. I then worked as an actor for many years on stage and screen, putting these skills to good use.
After several years in France, completing both two year professional courses at Ecole Philippe Gaulier, with its emphasis on finding the unique spirit and playfulness of each performer and Ecole Jacques Lecoq, a disciplined physical approach to story and character, I now offer a unique perspective to help actors find new ways to approach character and text, not divorced from Stanislavski but in complement to it.
I have experience teaching in large and small groups and can offer a range of workshops from 1 day to 2 weeks on the following range of subjects:
Audition technique
Bringing the clown to text: game, play and sensitivity
Earth, wind and fire: physical approaches to scene work and character
Building character for stage and screen
Finding the game in Classical text
